What makes the Miracle Blanket® better than other swaddling blankets and products?

Research shows that the two best fussiness “eliminators” are classic swaddling and gentle abdominal pressure. A lateral belly wrap is a very old Irish remedy for fussiness that is comprised of a long band of “stretchy” fabric that is wrapped around a baby’s abdomen to provide gentle, even, lateral pressure around the baby’s mid-section. The Miracle Blanket® is the first and only product that combines these two incredibly effective solutions in one product.

Why should I swaddle using the Miracle Blanket®?

Many experts suggest that swaddling in the first several months eases babies through the shock of suddenly being out of the womb by duplicating many of the sensations of the womb. Many babies do not handle this transition well, and some recent research suggests that this may be the main cause of fussiness.

Miracle Blanket Swaddling FAQs

Step 1:

Spread the blanket flat with the foot pouch at the bottom. Lay baby between the arms flaps with the shoulders slightly above the top of the blanket. Pull the foot pouch up over the feet. If baby’s feet don’t reach the bottom (like newborn or smaller babies sometimes do), fold the bottom so the feet are touching.

Step 2:

Fold the arm flaps over the outside of your baby’s arms. Then tuck the arm flaps loosely under baby’s back. The arms may then be placed beside the baby (as pictured above); or they may be placed on your baby’s chest in a arms over chest position.

Step 3:

Fold the short side of the blanket over baby’s belly and tuck it under the left armpit (if arms are down), wrapping all the way under baby’s back. Wrap the long side over the top of baby’s belly and all the way around until you run out of blanket, pulling snugly and keeping the top of the blanket slightly below the top of baby’s shoulders.

Step 4:

Enjoy your sleepy, calm and happy baby!

Note: Your baby should be wrapped snugly at all times. It is normal for your baby to fuss when they are wrapped the first few times. After a few times, most babies begin to relax at the mere sight of the Miracle Blanket.

"I'm not very good at fixing a tight swaddle and my 6 week old was constantly wriggling her arms out of traditional swaddles and then waking and getting upset. She hasn't been able to escape this one though! Its easy to use, just a bit fiddly tucking the arm flaps underneath bub. My baby tends to fight swaddles so sometimes she still gets upset when in this one, but it does what it says and keeps those arms tucked away"
